If you have enabled comments people get the point that you would like responses to your blog, so stop begging everyone to comment.
If you have a survey or some specific question for people I understand that you are communicating that...
but... if you are just posting your thoughts, you don't need to remind everyone that you would like their opinion.

Nothing screams "desperate" louder than this type of blog. I understand how it feels to have no comments, but I think it makes people who may otherwise comment, shy away from commenting... I don't know. I have a friend who gets almost 400 hits a day and only averages 5 or 6 comments per post, so commenting isn't something most people do.
